“ATTRAVERSAMENTI MULTIPLI” FESTIVAL | ROME

from 14 to 28 September, largo Spartaco – Quadraro district. – Rome

SATURDAY 14 SEPTEMBER

h 21.30 | dance | site specific | Spain | national premiere | 12’
IVÁN BENITO
“Galápago”

I’m searching. I run. Jump. I hide.
The struggle for survival is a constant dynamic in nature. Ecosystems select members of a growing population. Those members of the population with a lesser degree of adaptation will probably not survive.
The ability to adapt to our environment is what keeps us alive. Galápago is a dance piece that takes the theory of evolution and the origin of species as its main starting point.

h 22 | dance | site specific | Spain | 15′
ERTZA
“Meeting point”

Two guys – both from Brazil but from cities far apart – had to travel 8,000km across “the puddle” and to wait several more years, before meeting for the first time on the opposite side of the planet and discovering all that they had in common.
They discover how destinies cross in the labyrinth of life, and how in that very moment we can’t help but become new people.
They uncover a place where passion for dance reigns. Where something new is born from the fusion of Breakdance and Hip Hop, through the vision of a third person, coming from Contemporary Dance. Something new and undefined, yet still somehow defines the three of them.

h 22.30 | performance site specific | hybrid experiment (5 dancers + 5 physicists) |premiere | 30′
CONSORZIO GRANOLUCISANO
ALIX MAUTNER HAD A GREAT CURIOSITY FOR PHYSICS, namely, the unusual behaviours or theories that lack common sense

What would happen if we asked a group of physicists to use the body instead of the calculus to describe nature?
What would happen if we asked a group of dancers to use the elegance of mathematical formalism to theorize movement?
But above all, what are the elderly doing in all this?
The results of the experiment will be detected on:

14 September 2019, during the festival ATTRAVERSAMENTI MULTIPLI, between h21 and h22, GMT +1, Lat: 41.859 Long, 12.552297, Largo Spartaco.

SUNDAY 15 SEPTEMBER

from h 18 | fotografic installation | partecipated / interactive work | affective cartography
CAROLINA FARINA
“OB-VIÀM – Itinerari possibili per incontri ovvi”
with the participants in the residency / workshop of photographic experimentation

Ob-viàm – Possible itineraries for obvious meetings is a photographic trespassings workshop which aims to create transmedia narratives. We will experience many different possible itineraries to run into the urban space reactivating the attention on everyday gestures, situations and relationships. By practicing estrangement towards what is taken for granted we are going to choose the margin as a potential space, as bell hooks said “It offers to one the possibility of a radical perspective from which to see and create, to imagine alternatives, new worlds”, where activate practices of visual resistance and connections between the subjectivities and the social realities that cross of the Quadraro area.

h 18 | contemporary circus | acrobatics | France | national premiere | from 0 to 99 years old | 40′
KOLEKTIV LAPSO CIRK – LÉA LEGRAND
“La Chute”

La Chute is a disbalance of a human body versus the balance of a walking globe. She’s able to think clearly and it’s risky all the same. On stage the daring acrobat Léa Legrand expresses her fight to be a human being, to be a woman. In her endless attempts, the everyday life comes to light, the risks need to be grasped, just as the importance of choices and the memories of each one of us. The experience of the love that takes away and gives, to re-trace the steps of a loss, to transform it into a conquest of oneself: La Chute questions the aesthetic canons of a conventional femininity, while the force of gravity plays in its favor and frees its beauty. How many times do we fall, and only then do we find the urge to rise up and start again?

FRIDAY 20 SEPTEMBER

h 22.30 | performance site specific | 30’
CARLO MASSARI / C&C COMPANY
“A peso morto – LUI”

Photograms of a timeless periphery without any identity.
Characters, once protagonists and today misfits deprived of any social function, passive background actors, bystanders waiting for falling into an identity sinkhole, which will permanently delete their memory to make room for nothing.
A static microcosm, bodies ready for falling: this is what remains at the end of oblivion.
A research to tell and maybe give the last breath to the dead bodies of heroes, kings and divinities resigned in disgrace.
A contemporary pietas, a physicality alternating long and static moments with flash crashes, dynamic and anti-dynamic; distortions.
This new work leads us, once again, to a profound investigation on changes and social dynamics.

“Outdoor dance floor”

Outdoor dance floor reinterprets the contemporary clubbing esthetics, replacing his imaginaries both in the theatrical and unconventional spaces. The performers Daria Greco and Salvo Lombardo put on the stage a choreographic action based on a series of imitable short sequences supported by a constant pulsation in relationship with the beat the of the techno music. At the end of the piece the audience will be invited to join the flow of the two performers to experience, through dance, new relational dynamics. Outdoor dance floor wants to embody an act of pure sharing, sociality and aggregation of bodies.

FRIDAY 27 SEPTEMBER

h 20.30 | site specific | dance | 50′
COLLETTIVO CINETICO
“HOW TO DESTROY YOUR DANCE”

How long is one minute?
What are the limits of the body?
How much can it slow down to reach the most cosmic stillness or lose its definition and then turn into an ultra-fast wake?
How to destroy your dance is a challenge against time with pulp tones and a ludic taste.
A handbook for the boycott of every choreographic decorum through impossible accelerations and extreme slow-motions.
A massacre game with no fiction and no sparing, where dancers become wrestlers of relativity and the show gets stripped down by the intimate rituals of the preparation and the destruction of any form of formal artifice.
